Tree Removal in Stretford

Safe, tidy tree felling and removal. Straight fells where there’s space, careful dismantling where there isn’t, and every scrap cleared before we leave. Our home base.

Tree Removal for Stretford Gardens

Most tree removal in Stretford is dismantling, not felling. The terraced streets of Gorse Hill and the Old Trafford border leave no room to drop a tree whole: gardens are small, sheds and greenhouses sit tight to the fence, and the way in is often a narrow ginnel. We take trees down in sections instead, rigging and lowering the timber so nothing lands on what’s below, then carrying it out piece by piece.

We cover Stretford and the surrounding area: Gorse Hill, Lostock, Firswood, Trafford Bar, Humphrey Park and beyond (M32).

What’s Included

One job sums up how we work: six old elm trees taken out of a customer’s back garden, dismantled and lowered in sections, with nothing damaged on either side of the fence. Bigger plots towards Lostock and Stretford Meadows sometimes give room for a straight fell, and where they do the job gets quicker and cheaper, we’ll always tell you which method you’re paying for and why.

  • Straight felling where there’s room to drop the tree whole
  • Sectional dismantling with ropes and rigging for tight gardens
  • Dead, dying, dangerous and storm damaged trees removed
  • TPO and conservation area checks, council paperwork handled
  • Logs cut to length and left, or everything chipped and taken away
  • Fully insured, with free written quotes on every job

"Tim and the lads were very professional, very fairly priced and did an excellent job at removing 6 old elm trees from my back garden. Highly recommended."

Tree Removal in Stretford, FAQs

Yes, that’s most of the removal work we do here. A Gorse Hill yard with alley-only access doesn’t stop a removal, it just sets the method: we dismantle the tree in sections and carry everything out by hand, with the route sheeted and protected. A tight plot sets the method, it doesn’t change the price fairness or the finish.

Only if the tree is protected. TPO’d trees need a council application before any work, and around Longford Park you’re in a conservation area, where the council needs six weeks’ written notice for any tree with a trunk wider than 75mm at 1.5m up. We check the register and sort the paperwork with you before a saw comes out.

It depends on the tree and the access. A small tree with room to fell it whole can be down and cleared in a couple of hours. A large tree that has to come down in sections over a garden takes most of a day, sometimes two. We’ll give you a realistic timescale with the quote so you know what to expect.

Your choice. If you want firewood we’ll cut the trunk into logs and stack them wherever suits you. If not, the branches go through the chipper and the timber is loaded and taken away, so you’re not left with a pile to deal with. The stump stays in the ground unless you ask us to grind it out, which we can quote for at the same time.

Yes, that’s exactly what sectional dismantling is for. Rather than letting anything fall, we climb the tree, cut it into manageable pieces and lower each one on ropes, swinging them clear of the glass. It takes longer than a straight fell, but nothing comes down that isn’t under control.
