Tree Removal in Chorlton

Safe, tidy tree felling and removal. Straight fells where there’s space, careful dismantling where there isn’t, and every scrap cleared before we leave. Around two miles from our Stretford base.

Tree Removal for Chorlton Gardens

Taking a tree down in Chorlton is nearly always a dismantle rather than a fell. Gardens around Chorlton Green and Beech Road are hemmed in by the house, the neighbours and an entry barely wide enough for a bin, so a mature sycamore comes out in sections, roped down piece by piece and carried out by hand. Half the work is getting the wood out through the house without leaving a mark.

We cover Chorlton and the surrounding area: Chorlton Green, Chorltonville, Beech Road, Barlow Moor, Chorlton Park and beyond (M21).

What’s Included

Permission comes before saws in this part of Manchester. Chorlton Green and Chorltonville are conservation areas, so felling any tree with a trunk wider than 75mm at 1.5m up means six weeks’ written notice to Manchester City Council, and a TPO’d tree needs a full application before work. We check the tree’s status when we quote and sort the paperwork with you, because unauthorised work lands the owner in trouble as well as the cutter.

  • Straight felling where there’s room to drop the tree whole
  • Sectional dismantling with ropes and rigging for tight gardens
  • Dead, dying, dangerous and storm damaged trees removed
  • TPO and conservation area checks, council paperwork handled
  • Logs cut to length and left, or everything chipped and taken away
  • Fully insured, with free written quotes on every job

Tree Removal in Chorlton, FAQs

Often, yes. Manchester City Council handles tree protection here, and inside the Chorlton Green and Chorltonville conservation areas, six weeks’ written notice is needed for any tree with a trunk wider than 75mm at 1.5m up. TPO’d trees need a formal application wherever they stand. We check for you and deal with the paperwork as part of the quote.

Yes, that is normal work for us. Many of the older terraces and semis off Beech Road only offer a rear entry or the hallway, so we dismantle the tree in sections and carry everything through. It takes longer than an open fell and the written quote is straight about that.

Your choice. If you want firewood we’ll cut the trunk into logs and stack them wherever suits you. If not, the branches go through the chipper and the timber is loaded and taken away, so you’re not left with a pile to deal with. The stump stays in the ground unless you ask us to grind it out, which we can quote for at the same time.

It shouldn’t. We plan where everything lands, lower the heavy sections rather than dropping them, and carry the wood out instead of dragging it across soft ground. On a big removal you might get some flattened grass where we’ve been working, but that recovers in a few weeks. Ruts and gouges are the sign of a rushed job, and you won’t get them from us.

It depends on the tree and the access. A small tree with room to fell it whole can be down and cleared in a couple of hours. A large tree that has to come down in sections over a garden takes most of a day, sometimes two. We’ll give you a realistic timescale with the quote so you know what to expect.
