More often than not, yes. TPOs are common right across Hale and Hale Barns, and the conservation areas around the village and station catch most mature trees that are not individually protected. Yes, big conifers and broadleaves make up most of our Hale work. Where there is room and consent we fell from the ground, but most Hale Barns trees come down in rigged sections to protect lawns, buildings and boundaries. The timber and brash leave with us unless you want logs keeping.
It shouldn’t. We plan where everything lands, lower the heavy sections rather than dropping them, and carry the wood out instead of dragging it across soft ground. On a big removal you might get some flattened grass where we’ve been working, but that recovers in a few weeks. Ruts and gouges are the sign of a rushed job, and you won’t get them from us.
It depends on the tree and the access. A small tree with room to fell it whole can be down and cleared in a couple of hours. A large tree that has to come down in sections over a garden takes most of a day, sometimes two. We’ll give you a realistic timescale with the quote so you know what to expect.
Your choice. If you want firewood we’ll cut the trunk into logs and stack them wherever suits you. If not, the branches go through the chipper and the timber is loaded and taken away, so you’re not left with a pile to deal with. The stump stays in the ground unless you ask us to grind it out, which we can quote for at the same time.
