Tree Removal in Lymm

Safe, tidy tree felling and removal. Straight fells where there’s space, careful dismantling where there isn’t, and every scrap cleared before we leave. Around nine miles from our Stretford base.

Tree Removal for Lymm Gardens

Tree removal in Lymm splits by geography. In the old centre, gardens are tight, boundaries are shared and there is rarely room to fell anything whole, so trees come down in sections, rigged and lowered piece by piece over cottages, walls and outbuildings. On the bigger plots along Higher Lane and out towards Broomedge there is sometimes room for a straight fell, and where there is, it is the cheaper option and we will say so at the quote.

We cover Lymm and the surrounding area: Oughtrington, Statham, Heatley, Broomedge, Church Green and beyond (WA13).

What’s Included

Protection comes before any felling in Lymm. The village centre has been a conservation area since 1971, so removing a tree with a trunk wider than 75mm at 1.5m up needs six weeks’ written notice to Warrington Borough Council, and a tree with a Tree Preservation Order needs a full application before work starts. Dead and dangerous trees have exemptions, but you need evidence, so we photograph and record everything first. We check the tree’s status and handle the council paperwork with you as part of the job.

  • Straight felling where there’s room to drop the tree whole
  • Sectional dismantling with ropes and rigging for tight gardens
  • Dead, dying, dangerous and storm damaged trees removed
  • TPO and conservation area checks, council paperwork handled
  • Logs cut to length and left, or everything chipped and taken away
  • Fully insured, with free written quotes on every job

Tree Removal in Lymm, FAQs

Very likely, yes. The centre is a conservation area, so Warrington Borough Council needs six weeks’ written notice before you fell any tree with a trunk wider than 75mm at 1.5m up, and a full application if the tree has a Tree Preservation Order. We check both and sort the paperwork with you before any saw starts.

Yes, that is what sectional dismantling is for. We climb the tree and lower it in pieces on ropes, so nothing free-falls near the house, the greenhouse or the neighbour’s wall. Most removals in the older parts of Lymm are done this way because there is simply no room for anything else.

It shouldn’t. We plan where everything lands, lower the heavy sections rather than dropping them, and carry the wood out instead of dragging it across soft ground. On a big removal you might get some flattened grass where we’ve been working, but that recovers in a few weeks. Ruts and gouges are the sign of a rushed job, and you won’t get them from us.

It depends on the tree and the access. A small tree with room to fell it whole can be down and cleared in a couple of hours. A large tree that has to come down in sections over a garden takes most of a day, sometimes two. We’ll give you a realistic timescale with the quote so you know what to expect.

Your choice. If you want firewood we’ll cut the trunk into logs and stack them wherever suits you. If not, the branches go through the chipper and the timber is loaded and taken away, so you’re not left with a pile to deal with. The stump stays in the ground unless you ask us to grind it out, which we can quote for at the same time.
